And every night, he'd relive that moment that Silver, the white hedgehog from the future, had taken the pistol from the officer's hand and aimed it Sonic-but Shadow stepped in the way and it shot him. And after five whole years, Shadow returned to find Sonic in NYC to inform him of a terrible danger that had bestowed the entire universe and every universe around it as a whole.
