Woah, I've been planning on writing something sort of like this. O_o Any who, this is fantastic for your first story, and incredibly original. You had some nice similes, though I would suggest a little more explanation for the situation. Your first person outlook is great, though. Keep going with this story. ^^ It's awesome.
