Omg, your Mary Sue in the beginning, is pure, insane, gold. I simply *love* how you take this everyday habit of us fangirls having plushies (who, me?) and then twisting it straight into the realms of scary, scary cloud-cuckoo land. I was giggling so hard at Nack's reaction and his opinion on which plushie was better off...XD

Plus, the dialogue here was just utterly beautiful. I enjoyed the 4th Chaos Emerald reference, loved the remark about hot air fire hazards and the comeback about Sonic's bedside manner.^^ (and then still that 'aww'-worthy scene of Sonic helping Shadow...:P) And now, of course, this is *really* interesting, how are they gonna get the Emerald out of that muck?! Can't wait for the next chappie, please keep it up! :D

Heeeh, I liked it!^^ especially the humourous tone before they settled in for the night...

But urgh! I'm influenced by my own fanfic and can't stand GUN, so I'd never ever want shadow to work for them, so I liked your explanation of him truly believing that they could help and therefore his employment making sense...

I also laughed at the Night of the werehog joke of course. XD yay for bedtime stories! Looking forward to read more...:)

"It won't be safe to fun in the dark." Um... what? What do you mean here? I'm really not sure, this line just doesn't make sense. You might be missing a word or two somewhere.

"I would rather like sewage soaked shards of glass." Delivered perfectly blandly, of course, in that matter-of-fact tone of Shadow's. I snese Sonadow on the horizon.

Wow, an excellent addition there, even with lack of beta reader. Sen'tzu is right, you don't need to quadruple-space.
Other than that, the way you portrayed Shadow's first feelings were classic. ^^
