Spam Reviews

I'm so sorry for the spam. The site's been sitting unmonitored for a while, due to me having projects on the side, but for the sake of those like you who still post to the site (Glad to see its still active, even I pop in now and again to see what's been posted), I have just now turned on the ability for users to delete reviews. This was originally off before in case unfavored reviews were deleted to pump up their ratings, but at this point in time, the spam is the bigger issue, and I have no idea how to get around it for the time being. I don't think eFiction has been updated in some time now and I wish a new version was out so I can upgrade and deal with the spam.

THIS IS A FANFICTION SITE, NOT A FORUM

I just got finished deleting an entry from this site because it wasn't a story at all, it was a call for help. This is a STORY SITE, not a forum. Stuff like that is gonna get deleted. There's a reason for the 1000 word minimum, DON'T NEGATE IT. STOP IT. I will ban your ass if I catch people don't this.

In case you've missed it...

I figured an updated needed to be in order, just in case. I'm not saying anyone has broken the rules in awhile, but it's food for thought.

For those of you who may have missed the rules in the news, or for those of you who are new to Sonadow.com, there are a few things to remember when posting a story (Straight from my Master's own mouth for those of you who remember, in my own words of course... and yes I said Master. You need to really read the News):

1) NO SCRIPT FICS. ITS A PIECE OF CRAP and a WASTE OF SPACE.

2) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Cut down on the 'high school drama' and the 'humanized' Sonadow stories? Its getting overdone, and it strays from the orginal Sonadow stuff that most fans associate with.

3) STOP POSTING 100 word chapters! One paragraph chapters... ARE NOT CHAPTERS! Most well rounded writers spend at least a week or two to write a decent-sized chapter before they upload it.

"But it took me 5 whole minutes to write!" or "Well I only had 5 minutes to write this before I could post!" DOES NOT CUT THE COOKIES!

If you only had 5 minutes to write....SAVE AND WORK ON MORE LATER, but DO NOT POST IT ON THE SITE! Yes it may actually appease some people, and they want more, but there are some of us who just can't stand it.

In either case, the minimum is now 1000 words to post.

And finally number four, the greatest rule of them all.

4) GRAMMER... oh dear Chaos Gods... GRAMMER! I will admit I am subject to mistakes and miss a few words, or punctuations for that matter, from time to time. Do what some some of our great writers do, such as Illumini (Where did he go exactly?), RanRanSonniku (Seriously, another great author missing.), and Taranea (Really now? How many others are missing?), and get someone to look over your stuff.

Yeah, so Beta readers get to see it first, but if they can spot something you missed then you're on the right road to correcting it and making it a great story. Hell, the Beta may even give you a few ideas.

No One Is Making You Post CRAP

I love it. In the rules of Sonadow Fanfiction, I have specifically stated to people about cutting out the "High School Drama" Sonadow and the "humanized" Sonadow.

I got people who STILL post this shit and then say "Well I know it says this but -excuse-"

Example 1: A Humanized Sonadow was posted. In Author Notes, Author states "Well I know it says no humanized Sonadow but I already wrote this."

Solution: OPEN THE FILE. EDIT IT TO CHANGE SPECIES BEFORE YOU POST. Its not gonna kill you to wait a few days and make sure the fic is within compliance before you post it!


Example 2: A High School Drama was posted. Author posted in notes: I know rules said something against High School Drama, but I can't think of anything else to write.

Solution: STOP. Just STOP. Don't post period. Wait till you actually HAVE a good idea and work on developing it. Fanfiction is NOT there to let you post whatever the first thing that pops into your mind. Its there to tell a GOOD STORY that you TOOK TIME TO DEVELOPE.

People, no one is forcing you to post CRAP. You need to STOP, put a LOT of time into developing a GOOD story, taking more time to make sure your grammar and spelling is good, THEN post it.

You're insulting my intelligence if you think I'm gonna let you slide because you have some kind of excuse. Bottom line, there IS no excuse. JUST FIX IT. Don't give me excuses for hitting the post button. Or you may find me giving you a REAL excuse for hitting the delete button.

For anyone who's looking at the fanfiction page right now and going "WTF?!", I apologize. I'm currently experimenting with the skin and trying to make things work.

1000 Words

Because of the continuing RETARDS that insist on posting paragraph chapters, I have now enforced a 1000 words character rule. If your fic is not 1000 (legit) words, it will be auto-rejected.
